1. Hubble

Hubble Space Telescope (HST) was launched in 1990 by the combined efforts of NASA and Europe Space Agency. Its primary purpose is to be click the image of deep space objects and research more about them. Many awards and academic achievements are in the hands of Hubble Telescope. Astronomers enjoy the distant view of the universe with the help of Hubble Deep Field and Ultra Deep Field instruments.

It was known as the transformer in the space revolutions. However, the expected life of HST was 15 years only. But it was working in space after its final and fifth makeover. James Webb is the successor of Hubble Telescope. However, the same has been launched in 2013.

2. Spitzer

Spitzer Space Telescope was launched by NASA in 2003 with the primary purpose to study distant and nearby objects of the space. Unlike Hubble, it looks in infrared light. It was the first telescope to be see light from an exoplanet.

The place where Spitzer let off, Herschel telescope of European Space Agency picks up. The life of Spitzer was limited and about to be die. So, Herschel was lobbed in the space coupling with Planck Telescope. It is one of the most powerful infrared telescopes.

3. Kepler Mission

Kepler Observatory was placed in space in 2009 by NASA. With an object of knowing more about extrasolar planets, this mission is to be search for other planets like earth in the galaxy. Astronomers have a thought that there are more planets like earth, but far away from their reach. So, this mission is also known as a planet hunter. It works in the preselected target group of stars where the temperature is just right for the existence of water and other creature.

4. Fermi Gamma-Ray

Again, this telescope was launched by NASA in 2008 into Low Earth Orbit. It is capable of measuring the most powerful energies in the universe. So, it is capable of tracking black holes energy, the collision of neutron stars and supernovae bursts. It is crowned for detecting the highest energy gamma rays yet.

Fermi Gamma-Ray telescope was formerly known as GLAST (Gamma Ray Large Area Space Telescope). Eventually, it was renamed after 20th-century physicist Enrico Fermi.

5. Large Binocular Telescope

LBT is two lenses telescope launched in 2005. Located at Mount Graham, South-eastern Arizona, this launch was combined efforts of the U.S. Japan, and Germany. This telescope is 10 times more powerful than Hubble and proves that two lenses are far better than one.
